What Do the Daughters of Pavel Deikov Remember About the Discovery of the Panagyurishte Gold Treasure?
On December 8, 2009, 60 years passed since the discovery of the Panagyurishte Gold Treasure. On this occasion, two of Pavel Deikov’s daughters, one of the discoverers of the treasure – Zlatka Kaekova and Stoyanka Gergishanova – share their memories of that significant day. The interview was broadcast on the now-defunct “Europa” television channel.
They recall exciting moments from this historic event, when their father, together with his brothers Petko and Mihail, discovered the treasure in the surroundings of Panagyurishte.
My Connection to the Panagyurishte Treasure
On the occasion of writing this post, which is very personal to me and fills me with pride in my ancestors, I want to share something else. In 2009, 60 years had passed since the discovery of the Panagyurishte Gold Treasure. At that time, my relatives and close ones took on the mission to tell the story with as much voice as they had.
We love to tell stories. We love to pass on the kindness and spirit of our ancestors – to anyone willing to listen. But this should not happen only during anniversaries – every 5 or 10 years. That is why I decided to create this website – a place where every day, at any time, anyone can (I hope) draw good energy, find inspiration, and pass goodness forward.
